Starting a New Chapter:
NetIP is constantly looking to expand in cities across North America. However, we are equally conscious of maintaining the high standards associated with our credible name brand. Hence, we have an extensive and formalized new chapter development program. A local NetIP chapter in return offers a strong infrastructure support and vast networking capability that will allow you to make a difference in your local community and leverage collective resources to the meet the needs of South Asian professionals in your area.
Starting up a new NetIP local chapter requires time, energy and commitment from you and your team. There is a formal evaluation process involved for a new chapter to be approved and be part of the NetIP brand. We require most importantly that you are able to demonstrate that you have a strong and complete leadership team in place, as well as a robust South Asian demographic in your area (within 30-60 mile radius) to support a local chapter.
Here are some of the general requirements, and information we would need from an interested party:
- What are your goals in starting up a NetIP chapter?
- What interested you in NetIP? Do you have any prior experience with the organization?
- Do you have a leadership team in place? How many have committed to this start up effort so far?
- Have you surveyed or assessed the interest in the South Asian community in your area? How keen are they on partaking in NetIP organized activities and events? It is important to have a large enough initial member base to build upon to make this effort viable.
- Do you have a long term plan to be able to hand over the chapter once created and developed to successors? We need assurance that there is momentum in the local community to sustain a chapter's growth for years to come.
To begin the NetIP chapter start up process, we require a business proposal to be created by you and your team for evaluation. This will be followed by formalizing a relationship with NetIP North America and communicating your interests, goals and updates to us. At our discretion, you may be tested by being asked to create and host two or more NetIP events that fall under our four pillars.
The typical chapter start up process usually takes approximately 3-6 months. The most important factor for a start-up chapter to be successful is the team and its dedication to the cause. The effort to start a NetIP chapter may seem daunting at first, but NetIP North America will support you and your group through the entire process. Your patience, hard work, and dedication is much appreciated. We assure you that the end result will be well worth your while!
