Chief Judge Paul R. Michel reports on the "State of the Court" Chief Judge Michel
delivered the annual State of the Court Speech on Friday, June 19 at the 11th
Annual Federal Circuit Bar Association Bench & Bar Conference. The speech
addressed not only the current State of the Court, but also emerging needs of
the Court and challenges to its future, including legislative proposals of
concern, threats to expeditious dispositions, en banc rehearings, and potential
vacancies. Interested members of the Bar are encouraged to read the chief
judge’s speech.
At the Beginning: Circuit Judges Speak on the Formation of the Federal Circuit On March 18, 2009, Chief Judge Paul Michel, Judge Daniel Friedman, Judge Pauline Newman, and Judge Randall Rader discussed, in insightful detail, the formation of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and its subsequent history.
