Veterans Appeals

Substantive

The Veterans Pro Bono Program was established by the FCBA in September 2007. Under the program, the FCBA's Veterans Appeals Committee screens appeals filed pro se with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and, for appropriate cases, coordinates the location of pro bono counsel from among FCBA interested attorneys. The committee is also developing continuing legal education programs on Veterans Law topics to offer to attorneys who volunteer to represent veterans before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

In addition, the Veterans Appeals Committee works to establish connections with other Veterans Law Committees from other bar associations, as well as monitors developments in Veterans Law within both the judiciary and legislature. Persons interested in learning more about this program should direct their inquiries to the Federal Circuit Bar Association Staff or to the Chair or Vice-Chair of the Veterans Appeals Committee.
