Welcome to the Schenectady ELFUN Chapter website.
The Schenectady Chapter was one of the original founding chapters and the first organization Chair was from Schenectady. We have continued in the forefront of the Elfun missions as they have changed through the years.
The Schenectady Chapter was physically (by membership) one of the largest, and during Elfun's volunteer thrust was the leader or among the first to institutionalize the following volunteer initiatives: Computer Rehab and donate to charities; Talking Books for the Blind repair;Toy Modification for the physically impaired.
When GE Volunteers was formed, the Schenectady Chapter placed these and all other volunteer programs under the auspices of the Volunteers organization. We encourage all our members to volunteer for the good of their communities and many of our members do.
NEW!!! Toy Modification story and call for volunteers.
NEW!!! Information on the Elfun involvement in the Science in the Summer program. This is an ongoing educational interaction with children and families through the Mohawk Valley Library Association.
Thank You received by the Elfun Toy Modification Team from the Stepping Stones rehab facility for disabled children. This facility is part of the Northwoods residential facility in Niskayuna NY.
