CAAE has established the Jerry F. Tardy Internship to allow junior alumni relations professionals at CAAE member organizations to explore topics in alumni relations. The award is named in honor of the late President/CEO of the Indiana University Alumni Association who was a great advocate of the alumni profession and served as a mentor for numerous colleagues.
Each year up to two award recipients are selected from applicants employed at a CAAE member institution. The award recipient has the opportunity to visit other CAAE member alumni associations and be invited to attend a CAAE institute. The recipient will be requested to prepare a report of the visit(s) to be shared with CAAE colleagues on the website.
To be eligible for the Tardy Award, an individual must have one to five years of professional experience in alumni relations at a CAAE member institution and program responsibilities in one of the following areas: student relations, clubs, special events, membership and marketing, constituent relations or communications. A maximum of $2,500 will be reimbursed for documented travel, lodging, site visits, report preparation and related research expenses.
